![]() Serkis debuted as a director with 2017’s Breathe starring Andrew Garfield and followed up with Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, a darker interpretation of Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book.” Serkis just concluded his appearance on Alfred Pennyworth in 2022’s The Batman opposite Robert Pattinson and took on Venom: Let There Be Carnage after original director Ruben Fleischer opted not to return to oversee the sequel. Since his career began in the 1980s, Serkis has starred in a variety of roles, most recently as Snoke in the new Star Wars trilogy. Serkis is most recognized for his work in motion capture and voice acting, most notably as Gollum in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy and Caesar in the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy. Serkis is promoting Venom: Let There Be Carnage, his latest directorial effort, which hits theatres this week. The actor/director Andy Serkis has confirmed that his next film will be a remake of George Orwell’s Animal Farm.
